Periods get lighter. If you are usually a 7 day person, it goes down to like 5 days. If you use 5 pads/tampons a day, it goes down to 3.
You can use it to make #PeriodsOptional.
Reduce the risk of ovarian cysts
Daysee is very easy to use! Simply take one pill every day, at the same time each day. Most women find that taking Daysee before bedtime or with your largest meal of the day helps reduce nausea and other side effects. It is recommended to take your first pill the first Sunday after your period begins.
After taking 84 days of active pills, you’ll switch to 7 with 10 mcg of Ethinyl Estradiol. If you do miss one active pill , take two pills as soon as you remember. Then, continue to take one active pill for the rest of the pill pack. If you miss two active pills in a row take two pills per day for two days. However, if you miss three active pills in a row, do not take the missed pills. Instead you should use backup contraception for at least 7 days. Note that you may experience some bleeding or spotting if you miss three pills in a row.
Remember that Daysee and other hormone based birth control cannot be used to prevent HIV infection or other sexually transmitted diseases. In order to prevent STDs, always use condoms when having sexual intercourse.
Daysee birth control pills have two main active ingredients: Levonorgestrel 0.15 mg (progesterone) and Ethinyl Estradiol 30 mcg (estrogen).
The risks are very low, but some women have experienced side effects when taking Daysee.
Possible side effects include breast tenderness, headaches, nausea, and slightly elevated blood pressure or blood sugar levels. Women who are breastfeeding should not take Daysee because it may decrease breast milk production.
Breakthrough bleeding may occur when first starting the Daysee.
Positive side effects are also a possibility, too — reduced acne, lighter bleeds, and fewer mood swings are fairly common.
The chances of serious side effects are extremely unlikely, but some cases have been documented, such as blood clots in the head (a sudden severe headache, causing double vision, or stroke), blood clots in the chest causing severe shortness of breath, blood clots in the abdomen (causing abdominal pain), blood clots in the leg causing leg swelling and pain.
These may sound scary, but remember — they’re very rare.

Daysee is a combined oral contraceptive pill (OCP, birth control medication, birth control pills). Daysee prevents pregnancy by preventing the release of an egg (ovulation), and thickening the cervical mucus, blocking sperm from getting into the uterus and getting to the egg. Daysee is also prescribed to: treat acne, reduce the risk of ovarian cysts (as in polycystic ovarian syndrome [PCOS]), treat painful or heavy periods, and more.
If you have high blood pressure or take blood pressure medications, this medication is NOT for you. Instead, Pandia Health Medical group’s doctors recommend progestin-only pill (POPs), IUD with hormone (Mirena, Liletta, Kyleena, Skyla), implant (nexplanon), the birth control shot (depo-provera), or condoms and spermicide.
Some women may experience weight gain when taking Daysee and other birth control pills. While there’s a chance that the hormones can give you the munchies, it’s mostly water retention (and not actual fat).
Every prescription comes with a tiny risk of allergic reactions, including with Daysee. The symptoms are usually mild and include: rashes, itching, dizziness. A severe allergic reaction would be: trouble breathing, and swollen lips, throat, or tongue. If this happens, call 911!
Depending on your medical history, hormone-based birth control may not be for you. It’s important to discuss your medical history with your physician or one of our helpful Pandia Health Patient Care Advisors before you get started on Daysee, especially if you’ve health problems such as cancer, gallbladder disease, heart disease, blood clots, uncontrolled diabetes, or high blood pressure.
Daysee should be available at just about any pharmacy in your area. It does require a prescription from a doctor, though. If you’re hesitant to approach your doctor about Daysee or simply prefer the privacy, convenience, and ease of the internet, give Pandia Health a try. We have licensed, birth control passionate doctors in every state we operate in. We also accept most forms of private insurance at Pandia Health.
As with any new prescription, you should go over anything you’re already taking with your doctor or Pandia Health Care Advisor before starting on Daysee. This includes recreational drugs, over-the-counter meds, and even herbal supplements. Even something that seems relatively harmless such as St. John’s wort can cause Daysee to be less effective at preventing pregnancy. There are certain meds you should absolutely bring up. These are aromatase inhibitors, cancer, HIV, seizure, and chronic hepatitis C medications.
You shouldn’t smoke anyway, but especially not if you take estrogen containing birth control pills like Daysee. Cigarette smoking increases the risk of serious side effects like blood clots, especially in women who are older than 35.
If you choose to pay out-of-pocket, Daysee is a pretty expensive birth control pill option ($274 per pack). You can save money as well by choosing any other Daysee generics, such as Ashlyna, Camrese, Simpesse, Jaimiess, Amethia for $52/pack (91 tablets). Generics have the SAME active ingredients and dosage as the name brand. Watch our video explaining generics vs. brand birth control pills.
Daysee does NOT completely stop your periods. It causes a period every 91 days. There are 84 days of active pills and generally, women get their withdrawal bleed on day 2-3 of the inactive/placebo/sugar pills (which are the last 7 days of the pack). If you want to skip your period, you can just skip that last week and go into the next pack. Learn more about #PeriodsOptional and how to skip your period here.
Yes, as long as you do not have a personal history of breast cancer liver cancer blood clots or are 35 years old and a smoker.
All birth control pills have been shown to improve acne. However, each person is different and can respond differently. If Daysee does not work for you, then talk to your doctor or use Pandia Health’s expert birth control doctors.
Simply take one pill every day. At Pandia Health our expert doctors recommend taking Daysee before going to bed or with your largest meal. Avoid taking Daysee on an empty stomach because it can make you feel nauseous.
Daysee is a great birth control pill option as effective as any other birth control pill. Birth control pills are 99% effective if PERFECTLY used (in a research study) and 91% effective in “regular use” (when real people use it and mess up every now and then).
