Happy Sexual Health Awareness Month! Comprehensive sex education is all about learning skills to make healthy choices about your own health and help educate others on what inclusive sex ed means. It can be difficult to navigate the abundance of resources available online which is why we did the work for you.
So, if you are looking for some resources to get better educated on sexual health and reproductive rights, you’ve come to the right spot!
Pandia Health
Not only do we deliver birth control to your door for FREE, but we also arm you with facts to help enhance your own education about sex to share with friends! We have so many amazing blog posts about how you can be sex positive, ways to make your own sex toys, and strategies to keep your libido alive during quarantine. You can also check out our live streams on Facebook where Dr. Sophia Yen, our CEO and Co-Founder, gives you answers to your reproductive health related questions every week.
Your sexual education does not stop after high school. It is important to always be informed on the latest information like relevant terms, new contraceptive methods, and ways to deal with your periods (or ways not to… *cough cough #PeriodsOptional*).
So, continue immersing yourself in the Pandia Health community by browsing our other educational platforms like YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok for helpful tips on birth control, STIs, emergency contraception, skipping your period, and so much more!
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood is a great resource both online and in-person. On its website, it has a plethora of information on topics like gender identity, consent, and how to have a healthy sex life. Plus, if you need an appointment, you can book it online at a clinic near you.
If you’d like more information from a real human rather than just the website, you can call them or walk into a Planned Parenthood branch office; they also offer STD testing, birth control surgeries (the implant and the IUD), and family planning services.
Your University Health Center (or Pandia Health ?)
This is a great option if you are a student and are short on time — most student health buildings are located on or near campus, making it super convenient to discuss sexual health matters. That said, you may not be on campus due to the current global pandemic and your health center may not be as accessible as it once was. Check if your campus has an organization that supplies students with safe sex materials and/or promotes sexual health and wellness.
Sex education includes taking care of your sexual health. During this time, it may be annoying to get to your health center to pick up your birth control prescription; you may be at home nowhere near your university’s health center or are afraid to enter a building that may have sick people in there. Regardless, Pandia Health is here for you ‘cause you got #BetterThingsToDo than be waiting in line at the health center pharmacy.
If you want to #SkiptheTrip to the pharmacy and get your prescription transferred to Pandia, it is super easy to get started – after that, we do the heavy lifting. Alternatively, if you need a prescription we have your back and can have one of our doctors prescribe you one if you live in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MI, NV, TX, TN, PA, WA, or WY!
World Wide Web
Google it! There are so many sexual health blogs, videos, and articles etc. floating around the Internet! Just do a quick Google search of your question and you’re sure to get an answer (plus more resources!) within seconds. However, while the Internet can be great, make sure to only follow advice from trusted sources – you can always count on Pandia as one! If you are unsure if information you find online is factually sound, check for an .edu extension, whether the info is credited to a physician, and/or the author of the piece (i.e. if they are a medical professional).
Friends
Talk to your homies! Chances are, you have all been in similar situations in regards to sexual health. Break any awkwardness and chat about repro rights, sex education, periods — the whole bit! Although Pandia believes everyone should scream about their periods and masturbation from the mountain tops, we understand that not everyone is comfortable with that. Open up to your friends about any concerns you have or advice you are seeking – they might have some questions for you, too!
Friends are a great resource to confide in, but remember that not everyone comes armed with factually sound information. Understanding comprehensive sex ed and staying informed can help both you and your buddies who are probably seeking similar information. In other words, the more you know, the better off everyone is.
✨Now go spread the knowledge and the love!✨
