How to use Vagifem

Always follow your prescriber instructions on how to use Yuvafem. Consistent use of Vagifem is necessary to maximize its benefits.

It is crucial to follow the prescribed treatment regimen and not to increase the dosage or use the medication improperly for an extended period. Doing so not only fails to improve the condition but also increases the risk of adverse effects.

Here is a guide on how to use or apply the medication:

  • Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the Vagifem vaginal tablet and applicator.
  • Remove the Vagifem tablet from its blister pack.
  • Lie on your back with your knees bent or stand with one foot on a chair or step.
  • Do not take the tablet out of the applicator. If the tablet comes out of the applicator when you open it, carefully put it back in. If the tablet falls out of the applicator when you try to insert it, throw it away and use a new applicator and tablet.
  • Gently insert the Vagifem tablet into the vagina as far as it will comfortably go using the applicator provided.
  • Push the plunger of the applicator to release the tablet into the vagina.
  • Remove the applicator and discard it in a safe manner.
  • Wash your hands again after use

Vagifem Dosage

Vagifem dosage should be determined by the patient’s medical history, needs and response to treatment. Typically, the recommended dosage of Yuvafem is one tablet inserted into the vagina once daily for the first two weeks of treatment. After that, the dosage may be reduced to one tablet inserted into the vagina twice a week. It is important to follow the instructions provided by your healthcare provider regarding the dosage and duration of treatment.

  • Breast cancer or other hormone-sensitive cancers.
